Climate Change G R E E N P E A C E U K
Last edited: 07-09-2004 Global warming is the biggest
environmental threat we face. Climate change: the facts Since the industrial revolution we have massively increased the burning of fossil fuels - oil, coal and gas - to power our factories, heat our homes and drive our cars. When fossil fuels are burned, they release carbon dioxide (CO2) - the main human-made greenhouse gas.

The Russian parliament voted to ratify the Kyoto Protocol today in a blow to George W Bush's opposition to action on climate change. Esso tells staff to vote for oil - vote for Bush: To compliment corporate front groups, lawsuits against critics, and tireless lobbying against any global warming regulation, Esso is stepping up its efforts to get employees to vote "pro-business" in the US elections. Vote for squid - help stop bottom trawling!
